The Cougars have only been going for 1 season starting the 06/07 season, under the watchful eye of the team manager Adam Kirchoff-sleet.
The team started by the growing numbers of children looking for extra activity’s to do after school, this leading to the birth of the under 9’s Cougars Football Team. With most of the players not having had much out of school football experience, S.B.F.C provides a good firm base for the youngsters to learn about and enjoy football.
Unfortunately Adam could only run the cougars for 1 season due to other commitments, with the now under 14's team and his wife giving birth to the next generation of sbfc players.
With this Adam left a good solid base for the next manager Colin Jay. Colin like other managers got involved with children's football due to his son playing for the cougars. During closed season the team entered a number of local football tournaments, and won the cottage farm F.C tournament. As like most teams the players made choices to leave and go onto new clubs, this gave a great head ache to new manager Colin with only 4 existing players surviving.
The under 10's sbfc could now sign up to 10 players with a minimum of 7. Colin was at a point with not only players leaving but not having enough to enter the 07/08 season, After many conversations with Bernice and Trevor about the situation the sbfc lions and tigers manager Tony McDermott came to the rescue. Tony had to many players and need to trim the squads down, with this it gave great relief to the cougars knowing that they would have a full squad of 10 for the 07/08 season.
The cougars now had a full team and next came the look out for a sponsor to get a new kit for the coming season.
